Most people experience stress in our every day lives weather it be job or personal experiences. Like the old saying goes ” there is never enough hours in the day to get things done”. After awhile stress continues to build and most of time you carry it like a heavy weight on your shoulders. The weight brings you down because it comes attached with pain. Take the time to stretch and lengthen those tight, balled up muscles. Your body will thank you.
How to use your foam roller to stretch:
Heck bring it to the office and save 8 minutes from your lunch break and clear your mind and stretch your body.
- Lay on the roller length wise and open your arms up into a “W” and let them hand for a few minutes.
- Move your arms in a circular direction to help with range of motion.
- Move your arms from your hips to over your head as many times as you need.
- Grab the end of your roller with your hands and grip it like a telephone pole to bring down your shoulder blades. Next, turn your head from one side and pause and then repeat to the other side. This helps loosens all those tight muscles from people with computer jobs.
Don’t just let you roller sit in the corner. It does not help your body unless you roll on it and use it to stretch. So the next time you complain to your spouse, honey my neck hurts. You should ask yourself, did I take some “me” time today?
